Works great!: Motorcycle & Powersports

I put them on almost a year ago and wish I hadn't waited so long! I always drive when there's no snow on the ground, and I usually drive to and from work on the freeway (38 miles one way). The cold on my hands kept me from skating until I got it. Installation was a mid-level job, and unless you're working on your own stuff, you should probably outsource that to someone else. I just added a relay and fuse with extra wire to install this on my Vstar. I reused the original grips with this kitโ€ฆ

Worked great but difficult to install.

I have been using this item in near freezing temperatures for about two months now. Functionally, this item is excellent. On the high setting, my hands get almost hot at times, and I had to flip the switch to the low position. Installation wasn't easy. This is due to the fact that the heating element, in the form of a foil, consisting of metal strips surrounded by a very strong plastic coating, has a sufficient thickness and it is very difficult to install grippers on it. two sets of these hand

Worth it, should have bought sooner

This kit is very good and costs <$50, well worth it. I installed it on my Honda VFR during my winter break and I should have done it sooner. It took a while to install simply because I had also installed a custom fuse box with relays and had no idea what I was doing. Shortly after installation, I took my bike for a test ride in temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit and the kit worked perfectly (it even dropped to 37 degrees in Southern California). Unfortunately, since it's connected toโ€ฆ

Installation was very easy if you take your time and plan ahead

Just installed on the Triumph 675 and Suzuki SV650. I hesitated long enough with heated grips. Installation: Installation was very easy if you take your time and plan ahead. I didn't smooth out the bumps on the gas pipe on both bikes as instructed in the instructions. The beats were pretty quiet. It comes with insulating shrink wrap which is a nice plus. I recommend buying a built in 5 amp fuse. Instead of using caustic vampire connectors I decided to do it right and solder all the connectionsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Functionality

The biggest thing that drew me to this model over others is the simple switch mount that is included and attaching the switch really is as easy as it sounds . It went directly to the mirror mount of my 02 V-strom and fits perfectly. The heaters themselves seem to work pretty well. Adhesive backed heat shrink tubing is included for the clutch side, I suspect it will insulate the pad a little by just giving off heat to the metal handlebars, which is really nice, but it doesn't seem to insulate it

Pros
  • Excellent workmanship
Cons
  • Annoys
