Why do my regular $29 headphones sound better than these? After five years of use, their battery died, so I decided to splurge and buy something branded and truly wireless. I expected a lot more from Sony. The sound quality is abysmal and I couldn't improve it no matter how hard I tried. I mixed and matched the tips and wings, downloaded the app and tweaked every possible setting, but the sound was still below average. They say to put these earbuds "deep in your ear," but given the way they're designed, they just can't go deep enough. The part where the earbuds are attached is too short. Also, the sound quality continued to deteriorate when I tried to use it. When standing up and lying down, there was a very noticeable difference in sound quality that I haven't experienced with any other headphones or earbuds. These things have all the bells and whistles, but it's pointless with the horrible sound quality that can be caused by a horrible seizure. Another annoyance is the lack of a built-in volume control, which I wish I had known before ordering. To adjust the volume, you must use the device they are synced with. That's all good unless you're using an old .mp3 player. With my iPod, for example, I was at the mercy of the still too low maximum volume. When connected to my phone, I was able to turn up the volume a bit with a downloadable app, but it still wasn't loud enough. All in all I was very disappointed in them. Distant sound without much bass, a fit that didn't feel right no matter what I tried, and the lack of a built-in volume control unless you enable it through the app rendered these things unusable for me. For the price and the brand I expected a lot more. I'm really amazed at all the positive reviews as my experience was so bad. This is the first time I've been disappointed with a Sony product.
