This stock firmware product doesn't work at all with the Panasonic GH4 camera. However, I managed to find a beta firmware (google "BU110 beta firmware" for a link), ran a windows exe to update the firmware and it worked. AverMedia really needs to release the newer firmware on their website and start shipping devices with working firmware. Now that it works, it uses far less CPU than other HDMI capture devices on my Mac because it supports the USB UNCOMPRESSED stream type. Other capture devices (like MiraBox) only support MJPEG format, which consumes about 50% of the CPU for decompression during live streaming. So if your Mac is low on processor and you conduct web meetings, the AverMedia BU110 is a good upgrade.
