Mold grew on it. although I've never used it.
I do not recommend this product. I used one and while it flaked off fairly well, it was difficult to wash the loose skin off the loofah. Even the body scrub I used got stuck in the loofah despite letting it soak as directed. I didn't use the second loofah and kept it in the plastic bag it came in, it kind of got moldy.
