. I was really surprised how good they are. I have a stainless steel mesh ball that was bouncing tea leaves around the seam like crazy 30 years ago. I ordered more of these but they were smaller and wrinkled so I sent them back. Cute, all the silicone designs didn't look porous enough for the sheets to soak well, so I decided to give it a try. I was concerned that this design might not be porous enough, but that wasn't a problem. The water swirled very well in and around the large metal cylinder. A small curved stem holds it in the cup so circulation is from all sides. The metal is strong and does not warp. It takes a few seconds for the silicone nozzle to fill the barrel, but once inserted, it's tight. I even use the matching holder to keep it clean between cups. I don't know why I need 4 of these as they look like they'll last, but 4 for $10 is a steal. And the last. I have an expensive tea diffuser that has a similar metal cylinder design but then has a metal arm that runs across the top and is designed to rest on top of your teacup and hold the cylinder off the bottom of the cup. I really don't like this because not all tea leaves are submerged in water and some float to the top. I also like to leave room for the almond milk so don't overfill the water. In this design, all the leaves are submerged in water. In addition, the cylinder wobbles slightly on its silicone base and thus ensures additional circulation of the tea water. Don't let the fancy design fool you, these little beauties are very well designed.
