Ordered Friday, delivered next Monday (free)... EXCELLENT! Setup was easy, the buttons and ports speak for themselves. Right out of the box I started charging the battery by plugging in the AC adapter (at least 12 hours). Pairing with the Soundfreaq app was a breeze, although my Galaxy S3 and Asus tablet connected just fine without the app. The Sound Kick uses a Bose-like baffle to resonate the sound. This chamber must be fully extended (exposing the silver marker on the retractable chamber) to use the device. Google Play Music and Milk Music played great (and while it wasn't a sound kick issue, Google Play's volume was very muffled even at max volume on the device and speakers; Milk Music just screamed). Playback through the GS3 sounded better than rock/pop or dance with normal or auto EQ settings. The sound is remarkable for a small speaker system, whether it's classical, country, disco or metal, the Sound Kick delivers clear and crisp reproduction. The application of the UQ3 room enhancement depends on several factors including your personal taste, track mastering and device EQ settings. The "Dance" EQ on my GS3 with a professionally mixed dance mix will push the kick way out of reach and the UQ3 makes it worse, not that it would be much better without the UQ3. The Sound Kick is a versatile mid-range speaker system. You won't rock the kasbah with this, but you will rock the room! Battery drain detection is based on a blinking or solid red or green light, but I played Kick for 7.5 hours and the light blinked red 3 times, which means there's 10-30% battery left. If you want to charge your phone, expect significantly less playtime. The Kick's slim design makes it easy to slip into a laptop bag or backpack. Kick is a great option for total audio enhancement with a sleek design, battery/AC power and USB charging, Bluetooth/3.5mm dual connections for less than $100.
