A few months ago I bought this dog door for my two black labs. We followed all the instructions up to T. I have already renewed 3 patch sets in 3 months. Mind you, my dogs are old and go outside about 4 times a day in the winter, so less now. The first set of doors that came with the dog door broke after 2 days of use. This was because the flaps were held by a thread. We installed replacement shields and they were already pre-drilled and the situation is the same. A week passed and the inner valve broke in the same way. Yesterday the external valve finally broke again. We have another set of replacement wings with the same pre-drilled holes in the exact same location. I also found that one of the valves was missing a magnetic stripe on one side. We haven't decided what we're going to do yet because the same will apply. We paid almost $300 for this door and 100% are totally disappointed.
