One of the most innovative tools I've seen

Each year I buy literally hundreds of items from Revain, most of which are tools or something. I never write reviews. As far as I remember, this is the first review I've written in many years. This tool is absolutely amazing. It's even totally unfair to put it in a set to compare with "other" cheap crimping tools. I'm a "semi-professional" mechanic and I think EVERY garage should have this tool. This tool is brilliant, innovative, small and can be easily flared on or off the vehicle. I also have a Mastercool hydraulic tool kit that costs about $300-$400 and has crazy reviews for Revain. This is the industry standard. Guess what. Mastercool is an amazing tool. But I can honestly say that I DEFINITELY prefer this Mastercool tool. The Mastercool is great and pretty easy to use, but it takes three hands to adjust the cord inside the tool. And in a tight place (or even not very) by car? Forget it. Also, Mastercool has room for user error. If you stick the tube out too far or too little, or cross your eyes, the bell will go bad. I've found that I get literally PERFECT highlights EVERY time using the Titan tool, with VERY little room for user error. It's easily reproducible and consistent without thinking about what you're doing. Anyone who has ever worked with cheap instruments knows that it would be absolutely impossible to utter such a sentence. What can not be said about Mastercool. Just this tool. The obvious benefit of Mastercool is that it can craft torches of various types and sizes, while this tool only crafts one. However, this is the most common flash you will come across on US vehicles. And for the price? Forget it. If Snapon made a version of this tool, they would probably charge $179 for it. A few tips: Use an impact driver with a 17mm deep socket to insert and remove dies. And a 10mm head for adjusting lag bolts. I understand that using this torch tool with hand tools would be more of a hassle. But anyone who has a drill can use drills. We don't need crazy torque here. However, the torque of an impact wrench will help. I think if I could find one thing to "complain" about this tool it might be the tension screws that you have to move back and forth. But it's really not bad. Perhaps a "redesign" could make the two screws "captive" at the end so they can't come out all the way. This will prevent you from disassembling the whole unit by loosening the screws. However, this is not so important. Also, it would be nice if the threaded "nut" that you insert the dies into stays in place even after the two "blocks" are completely separated. It tends to move and change position. Maybe I would design it to be permanently attached to one block or another. In any case, the bottom line is that if you ever want to flare brake lines, whether it's your only flare tool, your second, third, or fourth, you MUST have this tool. . Good luck with it.
