Review on Bridgestone Turanza T005 245/40 R19 98Y summer by Ilona Varadi ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I was surprised by the quality for this price.

Purchased a set of Bridgestone Turanza T005 225/45 R19 tires for my Mazda 6 (2022) in the beginning of June. Elephandic joy. Rubber is fantastic. What I suggest. Before that, I had driven on Bridgestone Turanza T001s for three consecutive summers, wearing them down by roughly half that time. It's possible to skate for a few more seasons despite the fact that two minor, non-critical bumps have developed and the rubber has started to "grab" various bits of iron and stones. I also tested comparable Michelin and Pirelli models. I can't recall the specific models, but these companies don't offer a wide selection of compact cars or sedans. Since I haven't rolled an entire season, I can't comment on Michelin's wear resistance, but I can tell that they are softer and quieter than other brands. The Pirelli are roughly as rigid as the Bridgestone, but they are noticeably louder and have noticeably poorer handling. I was unable to verify if the Bridgestone Potenza S001 225/45 R19 outperformed the Turanza in terms of strength (thanks to the higher speed index) and handling (thanks to certain new innovations).

Pros
  • Excellent maneuverability (5.0/5.0) + Fairly decent durability (4.5/5.0) + Fairly good wear resistance (4.5/5.0)
Cons
  • Plus Noisy (4.0/5.0)
