I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

I needed a new device to replace my aging HP 255 G6, so I bought this one. The Asus Vivobook 15 OLED series was selected as the best option since it has a display that is capable of producing high-quality images for the purpose of editing photographs while traveling. Within this price range, a screen that possesses these attributes will not be available to you. The widespread consensus is that favorable impressions have been formed. When compared to the previous laptop, the screen consists mainly of empty space. upgraded memory and processing speed to 16 gigabytes, which is twice as much as the previous model had. On the previous one, having more than 8 GB did not allow the processor to function properly. Because of the item's relatively small dimensions, even a bag of average capacity can accommodate it. It is possible to insert a drive that measures 2.5 inches. And now, about Asus and the manner in which it treats its customers. At the time of purchase, each and every label stated that this was K513EA. After installing the drivers, however, it was discovered that the device in question was a K513EAN. The absence of a backlight for the keyboard is the primary distinction. After that, I discovered that it is possible to identify whether or not a backlight is there by hitting the F7 button, which results in the display of a drawing of the sun going down. It's okay, I didn't really chase after it that much, you'll be fine. The driver comes next. According to the information provided on the page of this specific model located on the Asus website, they are. However, after installing the system and all of the drivers from the website, it was discovered that the system does not recognize half of the devices; instead, it displays a bunch of question marks for those devices. Yes, I am one of those elderly people who likes to install drivers directly from the manufacturer rather than using Windows's built-in support. Even after installing the MyASUS application, the issues remained unresolved. The application provides an option to Only use drivers that have been installed. I was successful in putting in all of the firewood thanks to Google's assistance. After that, I went into MyASUS and downloaded all of the necessary drivers. As a direct consequence of this, the process of installing the system along with the drivers took four hours. Following the completion of the transaction, I upgraded the SSD to a Samsung 980 with 500 GB and then sold my native Intel drive, which was significantly more expensive than the Samsung drive. In addition to that, I invested in a 1 terabyte capacity Samsung 870 EVO. The disk subsystem has truly blossomed into a work of art. After that, I discovered that I had made the purchase at the perfect time, as Samsung SSDs had recently become extremely rare and expensive. The transaction took place on February 3 and cost seventy thousand. The current price is 110,000. In the same proportion that the value of the dollar went down by one and a half times, the price went up by one and a half times. It is up to each individual to decide for themselves whether or not such a purchase would make sense at this time.

Pros
  • A screen that has a good color gamut, measuring 133% in the sRGB spectrum and almost 100% in the AdobeRGB spectrum. Anyone who works with films and photographs on a professional basis will be happy. The typical consumer who is interested in purchasing a panel with such a color gamut will not want to gaze at the subpar IPS display. 45% NTSC because it is easy to become accustomed to a decent picture. This device's intelligent CPU makes it possible for you to watch 4K video with high dynamic range. In addition, the built-in is adequate to play games released between five and seven years ago at the highest possible settings. Although you will need to screw it on in current ones, the game may still be played rather easily despite the fact that the laptop in question is not designed for gaming. If you require a laptop for video or photo processing, then it is best to check into Ryzen 5 or 7 bundles. These laptops will have 6 or 8 cores with 12 or 16 threads, but the performance per Intel core will be far higher. 16 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) is a respectable quantity for a laptop that is not designed for gaming. In comparison to other laptops, the memory in this device operates at a speed of 3200 MHz and has timings of CL22. At one point, I was considering playing Legions for twice as much money. The frequency of the games is the same there; the only difference is that the durations are shorter. However, the price is just ridiculous. The addition of a 2.5-inch drive installation option is a welcome perk. However, given the circumstances of the present world, the installation of an HDD is pointless, other than in terms of cost. In both a practical and figurative sense, SMR and head parking every 8 seconds put an end to the 2.5" HDD market segment. Therefore, only SATA SSDs, and Samsung models in particular. The laptop was shown to be a highly straightforward and efficient working machine in the workplace. During use, it hardly ever gets warm, and the cooling fan only occasionally kicks on; I didn't even bother to figure out at what temperatures it activates. This explains why there is very little, if any, dust in the casing. Static electricity causes the screen to accumulate a tiny bit of dust, but it can easily be wiped away, and that's about it. The availability of an acceptable number of USB ports is one of the advantages. There are two USB 2.0 ports, which may be used for any devices (like a mouse), and two USB 3.2 connectors. In overall, the tablet has a good design, a comfortable keypad, and the screen does not glare despite being glossy. Additionally, the device has a decent battery life. If you put your hands in the correct places and invest a small bit of money, then the device will become useful in many different duties for a number of years to come.
Cons
  • The availability of the required drivers on the manufacturer's website, the absence of a SATA cable in the packaging, and the presence of rubber bands on the disk are all due to the Chinese; they sell a complete set for as little as fifteen dollars. The disk subsystem led to a lot of unwelcome and unexpected developments. To begin, there are only TWO PCI-E 3.0 lanes available for solid-state drives. Second, the solid-state drive in question is an Intel 660p, and it uses QLC chips. It has a capacity of just 100 terabytes (TB), and its speed, after the cache has been filled, is comparable to that of older IDE hard drives. This solid-state drive (SSD) does not shine with speeds when used by itself, and two lines are plenty for it. On the other hand, the Ryzen processors come in a variety of configurations, each of which already dedicates FOUR lines to the solid state drive. It is not quite apparent why this was done on Intel processors. Maybe to move the batches of SSDs that aren't the most popular but still have a great quality. After all, according to the logical architecture of the processor itself, it is capable of supporting FOUR PCI-E 4.0 lanes. The issue of a solid-state drive (SSD) that is not very excellent can be remedied by replacing it with any other SSD that uses TLC chips. The linear reading speed will remain the same, but the recording will expand by a factor of 1.5 times. After performing the initial installation of the system and downloading the necessary files from MyASUS, the issue with firewood will no longer be an issue. Another disadvantage is that vendors tend to charge somewhat more than necessary, particularly for the GeForce MX330 and MX350. The price of these video cards is more than that of the built-in, despite the fact that they offer performance that is comparable to that of the built-in and is even somewhat quicker. In the version with 16 GB of memory, 8 GB plus one slot is soldered, which is another factor that contributes to the negatives of this product. There may be 8 GB variants available that have a soldered 4 GB + 1 slot configuration. The only drawbacks are those that have been discussed above.
