Well it chokes and then shuts off when under load like it's pushing down to make cutting easier even in PVC that's why I bought it. I also made sure the tip was secure and tight, but it also means not over tightening. The tip fell off and went down the drain after a minute or two. There wasn't enough force to actually make the cut and it choked, broke off, and a minute later the tip fell off. I can see it being useful for wood or something softer, but it's not good for my needs. Too bad, because there are many great features!
