We have a very complete, quality 9 ft tree with a 58" base that breaks down into 4 separate pieces that it was purchased for became. a bit tight to fit everything in but I think it has to do with how the tree breaks. Our tree collapses down the middle rather than tearing off every branch, so isn't as thin as others might snap. There was still a little extra room around the edges, but I definitely brought the sides together to zip up. However, I had no tears or problems with zippers and despite the weight of the tree, I was able to lift the bag with no problems. (The top 2 pieces were in the smaller bag and the bottom 2 were in the larger one) The total weight of the tree (between the 2 bags) is approximately 165 lbs.
