Review on Hunter Outdoor Ceiling Remote Bronze by Kelli Ervin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Remote control durability is good for ceiling fans

Has worked great for almost 2 months but the remote control is apparently broken and there is no way to turn the fan or light on. Tried changing the battery in the remote control - no change. I removed the ceiling cover and checked the power supply - the power supply is on. Update: Contacted Hunter and we followed a few steps to determine the issue. The receiver for the remote control has apparently burned out due to last night's power outage and Hunter will be providing a free receiver. At the same time, the receiver is bypassed by connecting the blue and black from the fan to the power black and the white from the fan to the ceiling white and connecting the ground wires. The fan runs at full speed and the light comes on when the switch is turned on. I emailed Hunter a PDF invoice (proof of purchase) with Revain and Hunter didn't accept it. I contacted them 3 weeks after initial contact with them and they said they would look into it. I have bought at least 15 Hunter ceiling fans over the years and will never buy them again. They want to attribute the problem with the receiver to a power outage. I've had other ceiling fans that never had blackout issues. Hunter has a very poor customer service department.
