Review on Keychron Wireless Bluetooth Mechanical Tenkeyless by Patrick Reid

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This is the best compromise I can find.

First, unlike the other reviews just posted, I didn't make any typos that could be blamed on the keyboard. I mainly use it for work so I type A LOT, almost all I do is email, chat with co-workers and do some coding all day. When programming, of course, there should be no typos, otherwise everything just won't work. Likewise, my emails and instructions to others are very technical. A typo can make a big difference in what I'm trying to convey. If this keyboard didn't type 100% correctly for me, I would return it. It just isn't. If you are interested; I am connected to my HP laptop running Windows 10 via Bluetooth. My laptop is in view of the keyboard. There are no physical obstacles between them and they are perhaps a meter apart overall. Either way, that probably covers typing reliability, but what about the rest? Well, for me personally, this is the only keyboard I've ever seen that meets all my needs and desires: - Mechanical - Wireless - 84 keys - Aluminum deck - USB - C So why compromise? Now, these aren't Cherry switches, but you won't get them at this price point. However, I have no complaints about these Gatereon switches. They are very smooth and comfortable to type on. I can't say I have much experience with reds, but I like them. Second, even though it's USB-C, they put a connector on the side of the keyboard. Who does it? It is strange. Not that I plan on using it plugged in, when I need to charge I just turn it on overnight, but still. Finally wireless. It would be nice if it had a dongle transceiver like the Logitech products as they work very well but unfortunately it uses bluetooth. As I said, I use it for work, I don't play, but I plan to do a few times in Never. Still, I've seen enough of this keyboard catching up with my typing (and it never missed a key I pressed), as infrequently as it happens, even if it was only once an hour it would be enough to annoy the gamer. If you bought this for gaming, just fool yourself if you think this or any other wireless keyboard will do. default to power saving mode. This means that after ten minutes of inactivity, the keyboard goes to sleep, but the connection remains. Never had a problem waking up. On that note it connects instantly and flawlessly every time I start it, never had connection problems, it just works (no power off or going to settings etc.). But! It's USB-C! Even if he's in an odd position. It's wireless, even if it sometimes catches up. It's MECHANICAL, even if it's not the gold standard of Cherry switches. It's also 84 keys: between 60% and TKL if I had to describe it. It also has a REALLY aluminum body which is nice to the touch, very well made and just gives it a nice unique quality. Also, it has a backlight if you like RGB lights. I don't really like this feature, so I turn it off anyway. I've only been printing it for a few days, but so far I like it. I'm not sure how long the battery will last, but if I remember I'll let you know how long it lasted on mine, which basically means day by day if I'm typing a full day. tl; dr: I love this keyboard, it does everything I wanted it to. wireless mechanical keyboard, but I would just fix a few points here and there. To edit %. Also, I lied and ended up turning on the backlit LEDs to see if I liked them and if I liked them. I had pretty low consumption as I only kept them on the second lowest brightness setting, they were constantly red and didn't respond to any inputs, just constantly at the set brightness. I also had the normal power saving mode enabled (ten minutes of inactivity and it sleeps, IIRC) and I didn't turn off the keyboard once. I left my laptop on all the time except for the first weekend when it was off, so the keyboard didn't need to be plugged in anyway. Since I received it on 9/19/19 I've been using it every weekday for work where I am. on my desk and type most of the time (to be honest I also do quite a bit of research and have phone calls, meetings etc where I don't normally type). I would count today and the day I got it as half a day, so about 13 eight-hour days of uninterrupted use before it hits 15% (maybe the light was on longer, but I've only just noticed it). take what you want I'll see if it can last the next hour and a half before I stop working so I don't have to worry about charging. I mean I got this because I didn't want to see the wires. If I just have to charge it every few weeks after work, then I don't mind.
