Years ago I learned that the XL cartridge was the right one. They last twice as long as single wagons and the extra cost is worth it. These inks provide quality prints, especially when using digital photography. For everyday use, I always print in draft mode with "blank ink only" to save ink on color cartridges. This really saves ink, especially with cyan and magenta cartridges. This ink is very water resistant and dries very quickly to prevent smearing. Original HP ink is exactly what you need at home and in the office. I learned my lesson a long time ago by buying compatible cartridges from other manufacturers to save money. They completely ruined a printer due to a leak that ended up being thrown away.
