I bought the device to hold a smartphone when using GPS. My problem is that my truck's dashboard has a few dimples, so regular phone holders (which are made to mount on windshields) don't stay in contact for long. So I was looking for something with a flat surface to attach a phone holder to. While this interface looks like it will work, I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. However, my phone holder may be too large to work with this device - the small nipple on the rim of the suction cup extends beyond the rim of this device and may prevent full suction.
