Review on OXO BREW Conical Burr Coffee Grinder: Precision Grinding with Built-in Scale by Crystal Long

We have had this grinder for a few years now but are looking for something new. This mill is terrible! When we first got it I noticed it was throwing dirt everywhere. I contacted OXO and they told me that this was "the industry standard for this type of grinder". Seriously, they didn't try to fix it. Looking at all the reviews on the internet and photos of people who have solved this problem by using a higher capacity, I cannot understand how this company could not figure out how to solve this problem. Obviously they could fix it, they just didn't care. Now we have greasy coffee bean stains all over the counter and blinds behind the grinder. That's not the only problem with this coffee grinder. It keeps stopping even during the grind. You can't just install it and go. I contacted OXO about this. They said they needed cleaning. However, it doesn't matter if it's clean or not. It can run a little longer when clean, but it still can't go through a grinding session without jamming and stopping. Again, I can't believe OXO can't fix this problem. Now I have to stand by the grinder with the lid off and a thin spatula constantly clearing a path for the beans to keep from clogging it. Surely OXO could add something that does this so I don't have to stand there and do it by hand. I'm not sure how long they've been making this grinder, but when we bought this item a few years ago I didn't see any reviews mentioning these issues. OXO wasn't interested when I called and didn't offer any suggestions (other than cleaning). I'm shocked to see how many reviews there are now with the same issues. This device is absolutely not worth 200€! Don't buy this! OXO should fix these problems. This is a waste of money (and time).
