cool toy! not programmable

Fun to play with and love the decorative lighting. What you need to know: 1. Not programmed. There are over 200 preset modes and for each of them you can change the speed and brightness. But once set up, you can't save it and quickly come back to it later. If you exit and re-enter the same mode, it reverts to the default speed and brightness. The buttons on the remote control always switch to the same mode, this cannot be configured. There is no interface to program your own preset modes.2. There is a bug due to which the processor sometimes switches from RGB mode to BGR mode. So if you try to make it red, it's actually blue. With the phone app you can go to "chip settings" and reset it to RGB.3. You must enable location on your phone to use the phone app. Something about Bluetooth that only tries to connect when your phone is nearby.4. There is a bug (feature?) where the secondary colors are darker than the primary colors. Suppose you use a phone app to mix colors. They have Red (R=100; G=0; B=0) versus Orange (R=100; G=25; B=0). You would expect the orange to be brighter because the red LEDs should be running at full power and the green LEDs should add brightness at 25% power. In fact, however, it fades to half or a third as soon as you start mixing the second color. I think this is a poorly implemented attempt by programmers to give the white mode the same brightness as the primaries. The result is white (R=100; G=100; B=100) about as bright as pure green (R=0; G=100; B=0) and secondary colors (like the orange above) about twice as bright. dimmer . or a third of the brightness. The same problem exists for both preset/programmed colors and manually mixed colors. (Note: I know there's a science to how different colors of light appear more or less "bright" to the human eye, and that's not what I'm talking about.) 5. My Roku is playing around with these lights. When the light is on, when I press certain buttons on the Roku, it does weird things like mode switching, dimming, and switching to BGR mode. And I think the Roku remote enables scheduled shutdown as well. As such, I would recommend turning off the lights before using Roku.
