Our old resident died, we had to pick him up pretty quickly as we use him a lot. Of all the inexpensive Revain timers, we chose this one because of the large display and red color. We were scared when we first tried it as it made no sound after the timer was up. After opening, removing and reinserting the battery everything worked fine. Maybe the battery just wasn't good, or maybe there was still a piece of plastic that you pull out of the battery compartment on arrival. The timer is a little weak as pressing the buttons affects the LCD. In hindsight, we also regret not having taken it in some kind of position. In general, the functionality we need is there, and this is an important part. Only time will tell about durability.
