Review on 🌍 Ultimate Navigation Companion: Garmin eTrex H Handheld GPS Navigator by Anferny Pineda

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Garmin has serious quality control issues.

I wish I could say that I've had very positive experiences with Garmin products, but I haven't. I have an eTrex H that works fine but has a weak wrist attachment (it broke when I took it out of my pocket and had to walk down a ravine to get it). I have a Forerunner 405 that has worked fine but has had to be changed 3 times in just over a year. Since the third replacement would cost me a lot of money, I bought the Forerunner 305 hoping it would be more reliable. It seems that everything is fine but unfortunately the quick release strap is a piece of crap and I decided to rush the watch out two weeks after purchase after carefully brushing the snow off it while climbing. It's gone. I've spent a lot of money on Garmin products and so far one works but is broken, another doesn't work and a third is missing due to poor mounting design. My wife has a Timex Global Trainer which she bought cheaper but has longer battery life and is rock solid (I've had 4 Garmin units in the same period). I'm pissed as hell that I haven't had another watch in such a short time. Garmin needs to seriously tighten quality control before I buy another of their products. It's gone.
