I've been using this for 2 weeks and am very impressed with how well it works. I wash myself often, about 5 times a day. This material is strong and tends to create a cloud of dust if shaken too vigorously. I use about half the normal amount of detergent I normally use and the clothes are cleaner. How I do it (top loading washing machine): Choose a load size and let the machine fill. Don't add any clothes yet. Once the fill is complete, add 1 ounce of sodium carbonate (add more if you have very hard water) and mix with water either by hand or by rotating the drum. Then add detergent. I say use about a quarter less than what you normally do, or strictly follow the amount listed on your detergent's instructions. Mix thoroughly. Now add your clothes. Do not overload the washing machine. Let your washing machine do its job. Your clothes should be cleaner and smell better than before. If you have a dryer. Put on the back burner. Less energy consumption and less risk of burning clothes if they dry too quickly. Note: do not eat. I don't know why there is an asterisk for the scent.
