7 artisans 7.5mm f2.8, true bargan

I was tempted to give the lens a four because there was no lens case and as a photographer I would have preferred to press the stop button on the diaphragm. However, I was aware of the lack of click stops. I love the fit and finish of the lens and no one would have guessed that this device would cost $140. Most likely it will be compared to the $124 more expensive Rokinon 8mm/2.8. The price of the 7artisans 7.5mm/2.8 lens allows you to use it from time to time. I want to give credit to the box and graphic designers, for a cheap lens this borders on a presentation box. Please keep the "Made in China" sticker on the sidebar carefully. Adds a classy feel to the lens, thanks. In terms of performance, I would buy this lens again and recommend it to everyone in my photography club with the following information. I did some basic user testing. The lens was mounted on a Sony a6000, shot raw with and without a tripod, and loaded into Lightroom 5.7. I made my judgment at a 1:1 magnification ratio. From my point of view f/8 was the best option to use the lens. In landscape, it's soft on the vertical edges, especially corners with chromatic aberration. Chromatic aberrations can be corrected in LR. I am pleasantly surprised by the sharpness of the lens and the fact that it can be focused very close. I was content with how little I could see as the sun broke through the spruce branches 1/3 of the way into the frame. Although the lens hood can be removed, I did not notice any lens vignetting with my lens. I took off the lens hood even though I know better and I'm 81 years old. Old hands had a hard time getting it fully seated in the right orientation. I solved this problem with a matchstick by applying a small amount of Helimax-xp Optical Helicoid Grease to the threads of the lens barrel at 1/2 inch intervals. Shadow returned with no problems. If you have this problem, another precision grease will do. Be careful. Thanks again.
