This lens is fun, different and gives things an interesting perspective. It's lightweight and durable. My biggest problem is that the lens hood is not removable. Normally I wouldn't want to remove it as it helps protect the glass BUT sometimes since you I can't get the true circular fisheye look I want (with a full frame a7ii). can see the top of the lens hood, it looks weird. If it were detachable I could at least take those circular fisheye photos and then put it back on.

How to shoot a fish (eye) in a barrel

I love buying fun lenses to create unique effects with my Sony a6000. I never thought an inexpensive fisheye lens would find its way into everyday use, but it quickly became my favorite for wide landscapes, building interiors, and fun/distorted images of people and objects of interest. Now I take it with me on every trip, along with a good 50-200mm zoom. It absorbs so much light that I usually set my aperture to f/16-22, focus to infinity, and shoot. The only downside is the lens cap doesn't…

Hardly worth the price.

So basically it works. Firstly, it is difficult to attach the lens to the camera body. It didn't fit very well, actually a bit disappointed with it. Then, when it's finally attached, you'll need to set the camera to take pictures when the lens isn't attached, as the Sony A6000 doesn't recognize that lens. Nothing bad, but still annoying. Picture quality is ok, but really only ok. It's hard to get a stunning image with this lens. All in all, I mean it's a fisheye lens so no one fits it, at least

This is a wide angle lens

This is a wide angle lens. On my Sony a6300, I wanted to see how wide it could be. I put it on the table top and put a tape measure in front of it at the minimum focusing distance. It is capable of displaying over 12 inches wide. Two photos were taken at f/2.8 and f/22. These photos came straight out of the camera without any editing. The lens hood will not appear as vignetting unless the lens hood is rotated. The darkness at the bottom of the photos is due to the camera body blocking the…

WAS AN AMAZING LENS UNTIL IT HAPPENED!

The lens seems very solid. And that first. I used it a few times until the three screws on the focus ring lost contact inside and I still can't focus anything. Even if I had tightened the screws myself, the distance/tic marks would not be accurate. It's not worth trying yourself, I paid for the product, but I didn't get my hands on it. I'm hoping the manufacturer can help me with a professional repair or warranty for a defective lens that wasn't properly manufactured. It was a great lens until…

Well Built, Inexpensive, Fun Lens

Although I've had many lenses for a variety of cameras, I had never owned a fisheye lens. Having recently switched to a SONY mirrorless camera system and reading reviews of this lens, I had to try it. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the all-metal assembly of the lens and the smooth operation of the focus and aperture mechanisms. It's fully manual, so be prepared to forgo all the automatic features found on other lenses, including enabling the 'lensless trigger', but at this…

7 artisans 7.5mm f2.8, true bargan

I was tempted to give the lens a four because there was no lens case and as a photographer I would have preferred to press the stop button on the diaphragm. However, I was aware of the lack of click stops. I love the fit and finish of the lens and no one would have guessed that this device would cost $140. Most likely it will be compared to the $124 more expensive Rokinon 8mm/2.8. The price of the 7artisans 7.5mm/2.8 lens allows you to use it from time to time. I want to give credit to the box…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competition arrived

For the price it deserves 5 stars and some of its features do too. Worried about the lens cap. The MACRO capabilities of this fisheye lens are amazing. Additionally, sharpness and resolution at the appropriate center of the image can be surprisingly good for very close-up shots/macro, especially considering my first few low-light (non-macro) shots gave me halfway mediocre results. I took some pictures yesterday. Photographs of interiors during the day in some artist studios and I got…
