expensive but does the job
I wanted a cake stand with a flat top for stacking (which this one has) that could be used for tarts or single layer cakes. I also wanted a fully removable top, no hinge. It meets all of these requirements. Unfortunately, it's also very large (regular cake slides tend to slide) and it's difficult to remove the cake plate unless you use the lid as a base. Expensive but works.
