Review on HP Compaq S1922A 18.5" Monitor: Tilt Adjustment, Built-In Speakers, Anti-Glare Screen & more - WM767AA#ABA by Tee Ortega

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good resolution, with some exceptions

I received this monitor in the kit so there wasn't much choice on the matter. Color and resolution are great for web and gaming, but I noticed something weird when watching videos in black and white or taking night shots. If you look at the monitor from a non-ideal angle, black tends to take on an x-ray effect (I can't explain it any other way). I doubt this would normally be a problem for the average user, but I'm watching an old black and white DVD and it's a little distracting. I agree with the other reviewer about the quality of the monitor's built-in speakers - don't throw away your old ones just yet because you'll need them - they're terrible. Installation was a breeze, but as others have pointed out, but as other reviewers have pointed out, I wasn't able to do this when a tilt adjustment is available. I like the wider screen, and the highlight for me was after spending a weekend with this monitor and getting the *culture shock* it brought me back to a smaller box in the office. Big difference.
