I had a hotkey switchable IOGEAR KVM with a VGA connector that I never used. It was just a bulky USB switch so I decided to give it a try. I was concerned about the lack of a hotkey, but I don't miss it. I'm not thrilled with having a box of 6 cables sticking out in all directions on my desk, but there are some benefits. The color wheel will change depending on the machine connected, automatically switching (in most cases) when one is active and the other is not. One complaint that I haven't found a solution for yet, and which would be a deal breaker if I couldn't solve it, is that the mouse connection sometimes drops when switching to a Windows 10 computer. It's a problem at all, but for Windows it is Mouse dead and needs to be disconnected/reconnected to work again. It could be a mouse issue, but that USB switch is still suspicious. I'll probably try a few other models and see if they have the issue and return the ones that still have the issue.
