Review on Improved SEO: Five Ten Men's Hellcat Pro Mountain Bike Shoe by Jay Jeong

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Big volume, poor warranty support.

The Hellcat Pro has always been a great shoe. It's stiff, locks in the heel well and has unparalleled toe protection. However, the 2021 version fell short of those expectations. First, the size is huge. That's partly because of the big toe box and partly because Adidas/Five Ten resized the shoe. For most brands, US size 11 equals EU size 44.5. These shoes: 11 is 45.3. I would recommend going at least half a size down for a good fit. After about 2.5 months of wearing the shoe, the outsole in the toe area began to separate from the midsole. After reading it seems that this is a fairly common problem. I am lenient with such issues as long as the brand offers good warranty support. Adidas, which now owns Five Ten, inexplicably does not issue a warranty credit within 20 days of receipt of a defective item. Of course, that's too long to wait for a product replacement. While this might work in the casual shoe space, I would look to other brands that are better equipped to support cycling products.

Pros
  • Rubber sole
Cons
  • Hard to say
