I think people are overlooking the point of this holder/trunk. Before ordering I read many reviews that the camera is not available and that you cannot see what you are photographing when the camera is in the mount. First, this is not a camera bag. It is not intended for use in photography. It's designed to capture amazing POV footage just like you would with an action cam. I got the tg-860 to complement (and possibly replace) my GoPro. The fact that I can attach this mount to my backpack increases the replacement factor for this camera as an action cam and makes for a solid point of view shooting experience. I travel a lot and although I'm primarily a photographer, I'm very interested in video clips, so now I can press the record button while I'm on the go and taking pictures with my hands free for my camera. I've also read people's comments about how difficult it is to remove the camera from the mount. I'm not sure what you're doing wrong, but it's as simple as pulling a chord and taking out the camera. This is actually my favorite part because of the bungee. It is very reliable and can be easily removed. Aside from my travels, I also enjoy using it for snowboarding, kayaking, hiking, and biking. This allows the camera to be completely detached from the mount if necessary.
