I am a 3rd grade teacher and each year I have a few students who complain of recurring headaches and/or stomach aches. They don't seem otherwise "apparently" ill, but I think they have a headache and a stomach ache. I heard about these lightweight covers after reading about students who have sensory issues. I decided to try them. I bought two sets, eight covers total. I have twelve lamps in my classroom, so four corner lamps had to be left open. As soon as I put them on I could tell the difference (meaning I had to look for the difference). The light has definitely dimmed. Most people didn't notice them as they entered the room. My principal didn't see or ask about them until February! And yet, the best news of all is that I've had very few head and stomach problems over the year (unless the students had other reasons for it, like colds, allergies, etc.). )! I had to remove them for cleaning for the summer and the difference was noticeable again. I don't know if I would have the same physical ailments from this year's group of students (the surest way to test this would be to take them to a 4th grade classroom to see what happened!), but I did really think these covers have contributed to a better year for students affected by the lighting in our classroom. They are easy enough to fold. The magnets are very strong, so if I didn't get them in exactly the right spot the first time, I had to walk up and down the ladder a bit to change their position. But it was worth it! Good product!
