Great product! Many friends have told me that balance bikes for kids are the way to go when your child is just learning to ride a bike. I did a little research and came across FirstBike. The price of the FirstBike was about the same as the name brand balance bike at my local bike shop. I ordered from Amazon and the bike arrived quickly and was assembled in no time. hard at low revs. He stuck with it and the practice got him planing in no time. Eventually he fell in love with the balance bike and enjoyed it for several months. Once he mastered the balance bike, we bought him a "big boy" on Amazon. Here's the best part! The first time we took him on his new pedal bike, he bolted! First try! The balance bike gave him the skills he needed to balance himself and all he had to do was start pedaling. I recommend this product, or at least any balance bike, before making the switch to a pedal bike. Forget training wheels and the false security they provide. This bike is of excellent quality, it is lightweight and has limited steering, which helps beginners avoid overturning and falling. I wish they made bikes with pedals!
