The fans and casing are made of metal. The power supply is 0.5V - 0.5A with the included USB power adapter. The noise appears smooth and normal for its fixed size and speed. I wish it had a lower speed, just for comparison, but I can't hear this fan at Movie Surround volume, which I hear while sitting 12 feet away. The only time I turn this fan on is when I'm about to crank up my film amp. . My amp feels much cooler, which is very important to me. In addition, the design is easy to disassemble with a screwdriver. You can remove the stand and install it in the stereo case. Maybe cut a hole in the back to vent heat from the fan if needed. I only have it one day. I seem well built. I will update this review if it dies on me.
