Review on Fun And Educational Montessori Reading Blocks And Flash Cards For 3-5 Year-Olds by Clarence Calcara

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy to set up, but I’m not sure we’ll get much use out of it

It’s well made. However, it’s a bit of a pain to find the right letter attachment to match the word. Hard to explain, but I attached a video to demonstrate. However, I had an idea to color code it by putting a certain color marker on each wheel of letters and then mark the cards that coordinate with it. It does come with an instruction booklet that tells you which cards go to which spool, so the color coding would be a perfect solution.I will also say that I’ve seen other brands that have capital letters for the wood blocks and lowercase for the cards and that doesn’t make sense to me for trying to teach a kid how to match the letters. One other thing that’s nice about this deck is that you can flip the card over and it doesn’t have the word written on the other side, so that will be nice as the kid gets more proficient in spelling.
