Fun first cookbook for kids, if the grown-ups back off.

I love to cook, and began when I was about four years old, putting jimmies and maraschino cherries on my mother's Christmas cookies. By the time I was eight, I could have made every recipe in this book, and quite a few more besides. I read this book with that in mind, remembering how I taught my daughter to cook when she was young. We went quite a bit slower with the dangerous stuff than my mom did with me.Anyway, this is a cute little book with some drawbacks. First is that many ofthe recipes…

Pros
  • Nice easy cook book for children. Enjoyed cooking with my granddaughter!
Cons
  • DON'T BUY!!! HORRIBLE CONDITION AND NO WHISK

Not new like it was described

I bought this for my 10 yr old son who loves cooking and wants to learn more. He was super exited to receive this gift but when it arrived the rainbow whisk was missing and the book was less than new. It has bent corners and scuff marks on the back. I was disappoint with this item but my son just wanted dive right in and make the recipes so I did not want to make him wait to get it replaced but I was disappointed ☹️

Pros
  • My great granddaughter seemed to be quite excited to get cooking.
Cons
  • Missing whisk. Returned twice!

Great cookbook, not great design

Kid loved the cookbook. One complaint I have is that once you remove the whisk (which is crummy) you have a very strange shaped book.

Pros
  • Cooking & Baking Kits
Cons
  • May not hold children's attention for long periods of time

Great introductory to cooking for young children

Looks like the whisk has been an issue for several buyers but ours was there as pictured. My 10 year old daughter's eyes lit up when she saw this cook book with the attached whisk. She has now made several recipes from the book nearly by herself. She goes through the ingredients, has me put them all out on the counter, then pushes me out of the kitchen. This cookbook has made her independent and confident in the kitchen. The steps are very thorough for the novice cookers in the kitchen. Highly…

Pros
  • Includes a variety of recipes that cater to different palates and dietary restrictions, making it an inclusive activity for all kids to enjoy
Cons
  • May not appeal to all genders or interests

Great Recipes and Great for children to learn

I purchased this book for my son who is 7 years old who watches cooking shows all day and loves helping me cook momma dinner. Well, this book intrigued me to cook a few things from it that I really didn't know how to make. It is a great book for a child to learn to cook and most of the recipes in the book we all have the ingredients in our kitchen already. Also comes with a nice wisp to add to your cooking tool collection. The guacamole recipe is really really good in it although I did spice it

Pros
  • Kids are more interested than ever in cooking and experimenting in the kitchen.
Cons
  • May not be appropriate for group activities due to limited materials

A colorful and well-designed cookbook for children.

I was really impressed with this Klutz cookbook. For the past couple of years, I have occasionally chosen Klutz toys for my granddaughter, who is now seven years old. Most of them have been hits, including this Kids Cooking book. The book is printed on thick glossy paper with colorful recipes that are very detailed, and realistic for kids. The first recipe my granddaughter wanted to try was the Real-Deal Lemonade, using the Meyer lemons from our garden. She has been slicing and squeezing citrus in…

Pros
  • Kitchen Toys
Cons
  • Can create a mess in the kitchen that may be difficult to clean up

DON't BUY THIS HERE!

THE WHISK WAS NOT ATTACHED/INCLUDED! This was a gift.SO disappointed! Can you just send the whisk that was promised and paid for? The recipes might be great, but the whisk is what could really get a child to cook. NOT happy.

Pros
  • A mis sobrinos les encantó!!
Cons
  • Limited variety of recipes included

Missing whisk - my new review

I purchased from the warehouse. It said there was cosmetic damage to a corner. All corners are fine, but it was missing the whisk.

Pros
  • Recipes are easy and tasty.
Cons
  • Cute book but came without the whisk!! This was going to be a Christmas gift. So disappointed.

Wonderful pics and kid-friendly cooking!

This is a really great children’s cookbook. I liked how it was spiral-bound, which allows the pages to lay flat during recipe preparation. The language was easy to follow for children, and the pictures were vibrant. I loved that they included a tiny whisk, which is easily used with small hands. What a great book for getting kids excited about cooking!

Pros
  • Recipes include safe favorites and bolder flavors for kids with more adventurous palates.
Cons
  • May not be budget-friendly, as additional ingredients may need to be purchased

Yet again, another missing whisk

My daughter absolutely enjoyed the recipes in this book. She loves to cook on the weekends and isn't afraid to try new recipes. She's a great baker and has lots of training though. This book provides creative recipes as well as child friendly ones. She tried the bear toast first, followed by the guacamole. I like how each recipe outlines what ingredients and tools you will need before you start. the colors and drawings they use are great for kids and keeps them interested. The ONLY reason i…

Pros
  • Very good for getting kids interested in cooking.
Cons
  • May require additional ingredients not included in the kit

Fun Recipes. Fun Pictures. Fun Book

I really enjoy the ideas presented in this book. My students looked at it with me, and we went through the entire book deciding which recipes we'd like to try to learn to make. They have some super easy ones and a few more difficult ones. The print and pictures in the book are colorful and captivating. The directions are easily understood and the tips are great. I will definitely be using some of these ideas as I decide what to teach at my next cooking class. Why four stars instead of five? The

Pros
  • Includes substitutions for nut-free versions of classic recipes.
Cons
  • May not be durable enough for repeated use

Great for young kids to learn cooking.

Got this for our daughter and she is so excited to have her own cookbook. The whisk is just a simple flat whisk but the real value is the kid friendly approach to teaching some basic but fun recipes.

Pros
  • Gracias a mi hijo le gusto mucho su libro para cocinar
Cons
  • May pose a choking hazard for small children

The Whisk is missing

I ordered this book for my son. Recieved it and its missing the whisk from the book. This is not cool. My son was looking forward to using it.

Pros
  • Comes with all the necessary tools and ingredients, eliminating the need for parents to go out and purchase additional materials
Cons
  • May not provide the nutritional value of a full meal

Love it for kids, easy recipes, well put together.

I tried and tried to find a good kids book to get them interested in cooking, and I"ve finally found it. The recipes are pretty easy, in fact you may know them already, but this book introduces kids to cookbooks and following recipes. They include pictures and graphs that will catch your kids eyes and engage them. The whisk included with this book is perfect for kids and can be "their" first kitchen tool.Really a fun book for kids to help them find the joy of cooking!

Pros
  • Dress Up & Pretend Play
Cons
  • Recipes may not be age-appropriate for the intended age group

Cute Kids' Cookbook -- + Wisk

Very cute first cookbook for kids who can read. The pictures are colorful and appealing and most of the recipes are for foods many children will like, such as smoothies, popcorn, pizza, fish tacos and brownies.Sturdy pages. Clear directions, including steps that are meant for a grown up. Comes with a cute, rainbow wisk. This would make a great gift for a boy or girl aged 7-11 who wants to learn to cook. When I was a kid I had a popular Betty Crocker Kids Cookbook. This is reminds me of it.

Pros
  • 10 x 1.19 x 10 inches
Cons
  • Recipes may not be suitable for all diets or cultures

Appealing beginners’ cookbook

This is a fun set for beginning readers/cooks. The bright illustrations are appealing and the dishes have fun names. I’m not crazy about the included whisk, but it’s cute; it just doesn’t work very well, and your burgeoning chef is going to need a lot more kitchen equipment to get the most out of the set, as well as (Duh!) constant adult supervision.I’m all for anything that will get kids interested in something besides electronics and any kid would be inspired to try a few of these recipes.

Pros
  • my 10yr old daughter loves cooking!
Cons
  • May be too advanced for younger children

Sent WHITHOUT the whisk

It was sent without the whisk. I can’t return cause I gave it as a present but the whisk is mentioned on every recipe. What a rip off

Pros
  • 6 - 15 years
Cons
  • Not suitable for children who do not enjoy cooking or baking

Book looks interesting but it arrived looking used.

While we won't get to to test drive the book with the intended recipients until after Christmas, I can say the packaging left a lot to be desired. The corners are messed up - not a huge deal - but as this is a gift I am reluctant to give a gift that looks used.I will be looking to see if I can find a copy locally so I can return this. While I might recommend that book, I do not recommend purchasing from Ebay.

Pros
  • Colorful whisk is kid-friendly tool for mixing ingredients; It's featured in 15 of the 30 recipes.
Cons
  • May not generate enough interest to justify the cost

Great for Beginners

This book was a gift for my 8 year old who loves to cook. It did not disappoint. She has tried every meal in this book. The recipes are easy to read and understand. The whisk was a big hit. She needs mimimim help from mom and dad when cooking with this book. In fact, she has changed some of the recipes to make them her own.

Pros
  • grand daughter really like the book and is easy for her to use. And she got her whisk
Cons
  • May require adult supervision during cooking
