I wanted a handheld mic for work but we don't have the biggest budget and there is nothing else to produce so I bought my own. This is a simpler model without volume controls and a panic button. These are nice features, but not an extra $20-$60. Haven't used it in heavy rain yet (or even in our 7 months of consistently heavy drizzle in Western Australia) but I have no plans to get it wet. To edit. He survived the winter and spring and got wet several times. Holds up well. IP55 is good for everything except total dust storm blackout and most rain (water jet 6.3mm from nozzle but I don't see standard pressure, some people call it low pressure water jets).
