Reliable mic, worth every penny

Used the XTS5000 40+ hours a week for over 7 months. Washed with multiple cleaners, worked in the pouring rain and fell a few times. Still looks new and runs like a champion.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • I'll text back

Best accessory for $$

A reliable product from Motorola. Don't feel obligated to buy one slightly more expensive than this one. This microphone is durable and strong. Quality sound and the dispatcher hears me clearly. Worth buying.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

Outstanding functionality and reliable quality!

Nothing to say except that it works great and looks brand new. Good reliable quality, works with my FD issued Motorola XTS 5000 UHF radio. Recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality OEM microphone for their radio.

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Compatibility

Robust microphone in the accessories

Excellent microphone, well made, durable and overall pleasant to the touch. If you work in the corrections field, there is no body alert button on this mic, this is just a note for those working in this field. But this brand makes it, but not this particular one. Sound reception and transmission is very clear.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • A few little things

Good microphone, works as described.

I wanted a handheld mic for work but our budget isn't the biggest and there is nothing left to produce so I bought my own. This is a simpler model without volume controls and a panic button. These are nice features, but not an extra $20-$60. Haven't used it in heavy rain yet (or even in our 7 months of constant drizzle in Western Australia) but I don't plan on getting it wet. To edit. He survived the winter and spring and got wet several times. Holds up well. IP55 is good for everything exceptโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Updates

Must have for officers/first responders

Absolutely amazing. Full time officer and the radio I was given had no microphone/speaker. Instead of waiting for the department to buy me one, I bought this one. So far it looks like it might have been worth spending a little more and getting a mic/speaker combo. After all, what good is an external microphone if you have to unpack the radio anyway to hear it. An amazing product that can mean the difference between life and death.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Motorola makes a good product. It's ridiculous to pay that much.

Motorola makes a good product. It seems ridiculous to pay that much for a wireless microphone when there are around $40 versions on the market, but paying the difference for a well-known brand is totally worth it. I now have both and the Motorola mic is solid and durable, while $40 went in the trash after a few months of use. The only reason I used a cheap microphone was because a colleague stole my original Motorola.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide
