I decided to connect my loved ones to ease my IT support duties and enrich people's lives. That's what Chromebooks do. They enrich people's lives with their carefree simplicity. Can he run an office? Not quite, but there are simpler (in a good way) solutions on the web for what 99% of people need at home. Can he play games? It's not a AAA game that you can get on Steam or play on Xbox, but it can play a lot of the things you could play on an iPad. It actually complements the iPad. Heck, some Chromebooks are nothing more than fancy iPad keyboards. It can do real web stuff, which is basically what an iPad can do. It's just as easy. Turn it on, log in and you're good to go. If you've ever used Chrome (on a phone, tablet, or PC/Mac), all your bookmarks and passwords are ready too! This particular model is pretty fast, has plenty of RAM (2GB is the limit, but 4GB is a lot) and it has a touchscreen. The battery life is amazing and it's so light. There are lighter, better quality Ultrabooks out there, but at a much higher price point. This price is free. Sure, you don't want to treat it like crap, but the low cost and sturdy construction make it adventurous.
