great tool for distance learning

I'm a public school teacher in Chicago. I was trying to do distance learning with an amazing Samsung laptop running Windows 10. It didn't work well with Google. I broke down and bought this refurbished Acer Chromebook and couldn't be happier. The price was good, delivered quickly. Little did I know that new Chromebooks are almost impossible to find. This is a great purchase. To save time. money well spent.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • No automation

This is a Class C Chromebook

This is not an "almost new" but a refurbished Class C laptop as stated in the warranty documents. However, everything is functional. The protective sticker on the trackpad is misaligned and has a bulge on one side. The lower case has a small crack in one corner and an internal screw is broken in that corner. The screen seems to have an inferior TN matrix, but for $30 you can replace it with IPS if you buy it in China. Throw in another $25-$30 for a 256GB SSD and you have a very good laptop…

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Available in white only

Not for long - Computers and tablets

Bought this computer for my daughter for Christmas. First the included charger was wrong, it only charged in a certain position, and now yesterday it tells me the OS is missing or corrupt. I tried restarting it and reinstalling the system but they told me I need a new motherboard that costs the same as what I paid for the computer. It's only been 5 months and now it's bullshit.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Volume

Refurbished in "like new " condition?! I wish it would be like this!

Received this Chromebook from Acer today, thinking it was in near mint condition as advertised. Arrived in poor condition with deep scratches all over the case (top, sides, bottom). One of the corners was so scratched that the plastic came loose. The bottom of the laptop where the 2 speakers should be has a hole as the plastic grille is broken. I honestly don't know who could certify a product as 'as new'? Otherwise, like new. I understand where someone might miss a few small marks, scratches…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Simplicity Liberates

I decided to connect my loved ones to ease my IT support duties and enrich people's lives. That's what Chromebooks do. They enrich people's lives with their carefree simplicity. Can he run an office? Not quite, but there are simpler (in a good way) solutions on the web for what 99% of people need at home. Can he play games? It's not a AAA game that you can get on Steam or play on Xbox, but it can play a lot of the things you could play on an iPad. It actually complements the iPad. Heck, some…

Pros
  • Great Value
Cons
  • Clarity
