This product with 2% Salicylic Acid is great for exfoliating the scalp and reducing itching, flaking and dead skin. It works much better than traditional pyrithione zinc anti-dandruff shampoos. It can also be used as an anti-acne body wash. Supposedly, the accumulation of dead skin can cause thinning hair by clogging the follicle and preventing any hair from growing. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, so it can penetrate your pores to wash away dirt. Minor disadvantages - it has a rather strong odor that can linger after rinsing, and its consistency is very thick, so it is difficult to lather. Otherwise, it has been a miracle product for my husband.
