**UPDATE 2/21/2019** - We 'field tested' this remote with a relative who has dementia and it WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. He can use the remote easily, it fits his TV perfectly, and he can't accidentally reprogram the TV! Also, using a small wrist strap that attaches to the remote, I was able to attach (secure) the remote to his recliner chair so it never gets lost. Best $15 I've Ever Spent! Bought for a relative who unfortunately has dementia and accidentally *reprogrammed* every TV with a standard remote. Looks like it's just what the doctor ordered. It only took a few minutes to program this remote into our TV and it only has 6 large, easy to see (backlit!) buttons. You can't accidentally hit "Gravy" or a dozen other confusing buttons. I haven't tested it with my relative yet, but I don't see any room for error. It also has a handy strap that I wanted to use to "secure" the remote to a TV chair or small table so the remote doesn't get lost. As with many remote controls in the past. This remote seems like a good and affordable choice for people with disabilities.
