We only use Celtic Sea Salt which I buy in 5 pound bags. However, the salt is wet and the crystals are irregularly shaped, which defeats most salt grinders, and unfortunately we've shipped a few fancy but useless grinders deep in the closet. We had an old mill that ground salt perfectly, but over time the plastic parts became brittle and eventually the mill broke. My husband MacGyver had it repaired to still work and I was looking for something more representative. That's all. While not fancy, it has no issue with Celtic sea salt. As you can see from the picture, the grinder is on top, so no small white rings of crushed salt are left on it during storage. It contains a lot of crystals, so it doesn't need to be refilled all the time. Our old meat grinder got a decent burial, and all the unsuccessful ones went to the Salvation Army. The search for that salt lover is finally over.
