Having been a big fan of canal locks for years, I lost my 430s and a friend of mine lent me a pair of 10 inch alligators. I used them for about a week and wasn't impressed until I went back to using channel blockers. The difference in leverage, grip and action makes me think channel locks are obsolete. Love the fact that you can tighten the baskets on the corner stops and flaps without removing the handle or switching to an adjustable wrench. My knipex 10″ alligators are the best tool I have ever owned and they rarely leave my sight. PS Stop giving bad reviews just because it's not a button style. Buttons are nonsense in my opinion.
