I had two old power supplies with large barrel connectors. One was Dell and the other was HP. I have two laptops that I wanted to use these power supplies on - both HP. They required smaller cylindrical connectors. Both pigtails connected power supplies well and both matched power supplies worked with one of the computers while only one (HP) worked with the other. Swapped the loops, the result is the same. So it's a computer problem, not a pigtail adapter. The end result is that I now have two extra power supplies for half the price of a new power supply. For me this is a great result.
