The quality is good. Not very thick but can be worn as a shirt or under a shirt. I bought these to use fabric markers to draw designs for my son. I bought small and medium not knowing what size he needed. He is 9 years old, skinny, about 5 feet tall. Average fit. The little one was too short to wear as a separate shirt. If your child is small and you want it to be used as an undershirt, small ones may be fine as you want it to be tighter and tucked in.
