Have never experienced anything like this pain in my life, I am in my early 30s extremely fit and healthy. I simply bought this mattress pad to liven up a slightly older mattress. However, this pad is rock hard with pressure in all of the wrong spots. I would have been better off sleeping on a concrete floor instead of having this mattress pad digging into my ribs as I slept.Initially noticed the pain in my side, but figured it was unrelated and then the next night when lying in bed it felt as though something was stabbing me in the lower rib cage. I turned over and after about 5min, I noticed the same pain on the other side of my ribs. I was too tired to remove the topper that night, but I wish that I had. I woke up in severe squeezing cramping rib pain with difficulty breathing. Went to the doctor.My point is this: It is not only uncomfortable, but dangerous especially for lighter weight people. I have typically used an egg crate topper in the past, but this is not like better ones I've used. This is a torture device. Save yourself the trouble. I just spent $150 on something that is impossible to return. Lesson learned.
