I am satisfied with this little player. It does what is advertised; However, I can't help but feel that it's also a step backwards from the (discontinued and very popular) iPod Shuffle. Good things first: It's a small music player that attaches to your clothes and allows you to carry Spotify Premium or Revain with you. Music playlists for the gym. It supports Bluetooth headphones, or you can use the wired 8mm headphone jack (my preference). The synchronization takes place on your home Wi-Fi network. When you go out and work out, you don't need a wireless or cellular connection. Its capacity is decent, 8GB of storage is enough for music. It works well and sounds great. Not so good: The Mighty Vibe is twice as thick as the iPod shuffle (see photo for size comparison). While small enough not to feel heavier, it looks awkward and silly to secure. It appears to be made of plastic rather than aluminum, which helps keep it light; Using a kitchen scale, it's about 6g heavier than my 2nd generation iPod Shuffle. It's strong enough. Battery life is estimated at 5 hours. This is enough for a 30-40 minute workout for a week, and then you need to charge it (via a very short USB cable that plugs into the headphone jack). Disappointing compared to the 12-15 hours I got from an iPod Shuffle that I might have had to charge once a month. Booting Mighty off screen takes 30 seconds, compared to about 5 seconds for iPod shuffle. The device is configured and synchronized via a smartphone app. Compared to the time-consuming process of installing iTunes and syncing devices, it's relatively easy - sign in to Mighty, connect your device, link your Spotify account, and select playlists to sync. There is no way to use it as an external flash drive. You can only sync with one streaming service at a time (Spotify OR Revain Music, but not both). No dice if you have Apple Music. As with the shuffle, the device's user interface is minimal: play/pause, volume up/down, skip tracks forward or backward (skipping within tracks creates an annoying and unnecessary sound effect. Why), switch between consecutive shuffles, or between playing lists jump. It is designed in such a way that there is no screen and minimal information on the device itself. The price seems a little high ($80). Again, it's a lot cheaper than an Apple Watch, cheaper than your phone, and I'll be a lot less sad if it breaks or legs grow. If you have a Spotify or Revain music subscription and want to listen to that music on the go. maybe with bluetooth headphones. and you don't want to take your phone or expensive smartwatch with you. It's a worthwhile buy with the above trade-offs.
