Almost impossible to get a good app

I've installed dozens of screen protectors for phones and tablets with minor complaints - but I've never tried to fit any of them in a frame - and will NEVER try again. If I had to do it again I would do what one person wrote and leave the film on the sheet and just tape everything (by the edges) to the screen. 1) Alignment is difficult as they start at the same end. . You have to reach it within less than 1/4mm or the sides will hit the bezel. Unlike a mobile phone or tablet, there are no instructions for exactly aligning the film. The thickness of the plastic resists gradual peeling and sticking, 1mm at a time, which works wonders for its thinner brethren. 2) Bubbles are inevitable, I think the hardness of the plastic amplifies this. Be prepared to sit back and try at least 20 times during the installation. Additionally, due to the thickness of the film, air bubbles will not go away on their own (some screen protectors have micro-perforations that allow air bubbles to pass over time). The included cardboard tool doesn't remove air bubbles and curves quickly (it's cardboard). I found that a smooth edged credit card performed much better (after the cardboard failed) 3) Peeling and reusing the card is very risky as dust often gets into the adhesive, further compounding the problem. (Those bubbles won't go away and the adhesive isn't thick enough to hide them. I don't have a certified cleanroom, do I? The instructions at the very end mention a steam-filled bathroom - this is not a suggestion, it's a minimum requirement 4) Be You end up being very careful when peeling it off as too much bending and it will crumple the plastic and then detach in that area (permanent blister). All in all, it was an exercise in great disappointment. and left a barely usable end result. I suppose if I did 10 of these in a row I'd finally end up good at it and have something of value. Practice makes perfect, don't expect the first one to be very helpful.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Too stupid
