I was looking for a way to keep my hands warm on my DRZ-400S. I have heated pens but they don't help my fingertips. I've bought and tried about five styles of motorcycle winter gloves and they were fine up to 45°F but not up to 28°F. My very good (non-motorcycle) Marmot gloves with heated grips and polyester lining worked fine at 28°F for up to 30 minutes at highway speeds, but my fingertips were still too cold after 15 minutes. Adding chemical heat packs didn't help and they aren't armored. The electrically heated glove inserts worked, but when I combined them with heated grips, a heated vest, and LED high beams, my bike's battery drained. when I was driving and it is unstable. I installed a 35w HID headlight and 5w LED taillight to reduce power but it was still a net loss. I've been looking for a way to be warmer with less force and these mittens work. You look as dumb as a dog with one of those bumps on your head, but it's worth not being cold and being able to wear thinner gloves with more dexterity. I used traumatic scissors to cut holes in the mirror and sealed the cutout with a soldering iron.
