Review on Z 400 008 CR Threaded Stainless Internal by Jack Malloy

Ordered for 1/4-20 Furniture Smoother. As others have suggested, I drilled an oversized 1/32" hole (in end grain ash). I lubricated the holes with a diluted wax product (but any lube will do). I used the lock nut method on the tool, which I like was able to tap a nail on the end of the tool to seat the bit just enough and then just apply gentle pressure as I screwed the bit into the hole. I ended up countersinking the bit a bit and when I took the tool out came out fine. Although I had trouble getting the first bit straight into the hole using the nailing method, I was able to drive it straight back in. The other three went in generally with no problems. Happy with the product. Everything worked fine.
