Absolute bullshit, don't buy these! Instead of using a hex head (like every other threaded insert on the planet), the screwdriver uses a flat head or a special head installation tool, which I bought for another $10, but still, even with a really big hole drilled in the Wood is drilled, not inserted straight. That's a terrible design. If I could rate it a zero I would.

Ordered for 1/4-20 Furniture Smoother. As others have suggested, I drilled an oversized 1/32" hole (in end grain ash). I lubricated the holes with a diluted wax product (but any lube will do). I used the lock nut method on the tool, which I like was able to tap a nail on the end of the tool to seat the bit just enough and then just apply gentle pressure as I screwed the bit into the hole.
