Difficult to install

I bought these to assemble furniture that I wanted to take apart when not in use. The plans I used called for them to be inserted into an end grain cherry and the plans indicated that since it is end grain the inserts do not have the same holding power and therefore need to be installed with epoxy . Because of this, the inserts must be hammered in to thread, then removed and reinserted with epoxy. It is almost impossible to install them with a large screwdriver, so you need to use an additional tool for the installation. But this tool only controls the insert, and you cannot remove it once inserted. I ended up buying another set of inserts that use an allen wrench and they worked fine just not as high quality as these.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Everything is fine
